 The Wandering Sportsman
Where the Journey Matters as Much as the Catch, the Flush, or the Harvest.

The Wandering Sportsman is a sporting lifestyle company built around adventure, storytelling, tradition, conservation, and community. It is a home for those who believe the outdoor life is about more than the fish caught, the bird flushed, or the game harvested ,  it is about the places we go, the people we meet, the lessons we carry, and the stories we pass on.

Through hosted sporting adventures, photography, films, writing, gear, events, and community, The Wandering Sportsman brings together hunters, anglers, wingshooters, travelers, dog men, conservationists, and outdoor storytellers under one shared belief: the journey matters.

One TraditionDifferent Paths. Same Pursuit.

One Tradition is the mission venture of The Wandering Sportsman,  a movement created to unite all sportsmen and women, no matter how they pursue the outdoors.

Fly fishing, spin fishing, upland hunting, waterfowling, bowhunting, rifle hunting, trapping, photography, and conservation may all follow different paths, but they are rooted in the same tradition: respect for wild places, appreciation for wildlife, time spent with family and friends, and the responsibility to pass this lifestyle on to the next generation.

The Wandering Sportsman is the company.
One Tradition is the mission.

Together, they stand for adventure, heritage, conservation, mentorship, and unity within the sporting community.

Rising along the border of Argentina and Chile, Mount Tronador stands as one of Patagonia’s most breathtaking peaks. Its name, meaning “The Thunderer,” comes from the deep rumble of shifting glaciers echoing through the mountains.

Bathed in golden light beneath an endless Patagonian sky, Tronador feels less like a destination and more like a reminder of how wild and untamed this world still is. Places like this stay with you long after the journey ends, etched into memory through silence, wind, and the sheer scale of the landscape.

Patagonia Trophy Trout Adventure: Sea-Run Browns & Monster Rainbows

There are trout trips…

And then there are journeys that stay with you.

In 2027, I’ll be returning to Argentina to host one of the most complete trout adventures I’ve ever put together,
Swinging flies for sea-run brown trout on the Río Gallegos…

Then stepping into another world, chasing giant rainbow trout on Jurassic Lake.

Two fisheries. Two completely different experiences. One unforgettable journey.

Small group. Prime dates. Incredible water.

If this has ever been on your list… now’s the time.

A Day in Patagonia, What It Really Feels Like

Picture

There are trips you plan carefully…

…and then there are journeys that begin with nothing more than curiosity, hope, and a willingness to trust strangers.

My first trip to Argentina started exactly that way.

I traveled alone carrying little more than fly rods, a duffel bag, and a handful of emails from lodge owners and outfitters I had never met, men who would eventually become lifelong friends.

Landing in Buenos Aires was sensory overload.

I wandered through the airport completely lost, jet-lagged, and overwhelmed while impossibly beautiful Argentine women tried to sell me cologne as I searched for baggage claim. At that moment, I honestly wondered what I had gotten myself into.

Stepping outside the airport, the city hit me immediately.

The noise.
The movement.
The chaos.
